They went live to goober pollard during her walk for The Wiregrass Children's Home and she didn't know her wireless mic was on and broadcasting. She was cussing up a blue streak. She's once again brought embarassment to herself, her sponsors, her company and her profession. Nice. You know someone will complain about this one. Goober Pollard, your phone's ringing. It's the FCC. Next stop-the WWE.

I think I may start listening to the TVY morning show. It seems like it's getting pretty damn interesting 8)

Oh yeah soylentpurple we do it because bashing Amie is fun..really u should try it!

Any idea how the money finished? Exceed goal? No matter your opinion of the jocks or of the corporate motive these are two organizations that certainly need and deserve the dollars.

Goober Pollard? How classy--and they were walking for both St Jude Children's Hospital and the Wiregrass Children's Home! For those who are interested in the real story, on the second day of the 80 mile walk Amie Pollard along with Mike Schmitz, Nancy Jones, Kelly Galore of KMX, and about 20 other dedicated individuals were walking through Ft Rucker on about mile 45 of 80 miles when the General joined the walk with his miniature snoozer Yager. During the walk Amie was doing a LIVE remote when she commented that the dog was "pissing" on every fire hydrant that they walked by. If saying "pissing" qualifies as "cussing like a sailor" then maybe we need to just stone Amie in the courtyard square but since she did during her next LIVE update apologize for her little slip up maybe we can let her live and accept her apology and the fact that she like all of us is human! It is a sad sad day in this world when you can not have a fund raiser without someone finding fault with something someone is doing or saying and Amie seems to be everyone's favorite target. Amie Pollard has more class and determination then anyone I know and I am sure that the Children and the parents of St Jude have forgotten her slip of the tongue and are greatful for the effort that she and everyone else put forth on their behalf and yes, Stewy they did exceed their goal! Way to Go AMIE!!

This is for the ones who love to bash Amie Pollard! I participated in this walk with Amie and let me tell you something, there is not a nother person in this world that I wouldv'e rather been with than her. Amie not only is a sweet and wonderful person, she is also dedicated to her job and works hard to achieve what she sets out to do. If you do not know Amie personally, you should get to know her. Also for those of you that love to bash her why do you not make yourself known, are you hiding behind someones skirt tale? If you are man/woman enough to bash someone you ought to be man/woman enough to tell who you are.
AMIE POLLARD IS AMAZING AND HAS A TRUE WONDERFUL KIND HEART! Amie I love you and your family and you continue to do what you do and don't worry about what others say, because obviously they have NO LIFE! Ursula you are also an amazing person and you continue to do what you do! I love you guys and remember there is always going to be that one BAD APPLE that tries to spoil the fun for everyone and for those of you that bash Amie I have four words for ya, GO GET A LIFE!!!!!

OMG  our board has been infiltrated, by people that dont work in radio!!!! Change the web site!!!!, Redo the passwords!!!!! every time someone bashes sombody, :'( thier family will be on, wait till i tell my mom!!! she wont tolerate this . Dangit this is our board....WHY!!!! WHY!!! WHY?!!!! :'(

P.S kelly did not walk for st, jude she walked for "the wounded warrior project"

back to normal broadcast...WHY?!!!!! WHYYY GODDDD WHYYYYYYY?!!!!!!?!!!!!? :'(

OK, I'll bite. Yes, Amie is very determined and dedicated. As far as your comments on the kindest and biggest heart of anyone you know, I suggest that you expand your circle of acquaintances. You'll hear/see the people that work with her now defending her but very few of past co-workings doing so unless they think they might have to work with her again. Her narrow minded but colorful verbal tirades are way beyond a dog watering a fire hydrant. I'm very glad that Ursala and Beth have had good experiences with Amie. Keep drinking the Kool-aide.

Furthermore, other than being directed by Amie to defend her poor overworked self, how did these obviously kind and concerned ladies know to read/post here? Groupies to the rescue!

Attention Ursala and Beth .

Sure it is a great cause that she was walking for but it was highly un-professional to do what she did. You see in radio most of us use a thing called headphones when we do a Live break to hear ourselves talk so that we know when our microphone is on. Wearing them around your neck while holding the cell phone to your ear does not help when you are doing a live break.
Maybe if Amie knew how to operate the equipment at the station she would understand this concept.
Another thing too what she was doing for the walk was just to get a pat on the back and to get ratings, Eventually you will start hearing the promo's on the air saying we raised X number of dollars etc. etc. for this charity. Which is saying nothing more to the listeners look at us ,look what we did ,we are so great.
There are two other sets of radio stations in this market that aren't owned by Majic Broadcasting but are owned by The Radio People and Agnes Simpson . Those stations choose to do thier charity work quietly.

OH WHATEVER!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! "Choose to do their Charity work quietly?" Maybe if you mean tipping the bartenders at Cowboys your charity or have you taken a turn at the bell in front of wal mart. Every single person on the planet, not just radio, knows that in order to be successful at raising money for a charity you can't do it quietly you do it as loud and as proud as you can. Perchance they are doing it quietly because there isn't a roof top left to climb up on, a scissor lift to get in or any major road ways to walk on? It's called originality get some.

Why does there seem to be so much anger in virtually any thread about radio in the "wiregrass" area? ???

In response to everyone who has any question as to my reply on this board let me say that I do not have anything against anyone on this site but I am stating my opinion and accounts of what I witnessed first hand at the 80 Mile Walk this weekend. One, Amie Pollard has never told me to come to this board and read or post any type of response! I have been reading this site and commenting on this site for several years. Two, I never implied that Kelly Galore walked for St Jude I stated that Amie, Mike, Nancy, Kelly Galore with KMX, and about 20 other dedicated individuals walked! The purpose in saying that was to get the point across that the negative comments are not only hurting Amie's cause but everyone who participated in what ever charity they were walking for! I have done many charities with Amie and believe me I have seen her at her best and her worst and her best "in my opinion" out weighs her worst! Now, I do not care what anyone's opinion is of Amie because you are intitled to that opinion just as I am mine! But I can bet that little Dalton Causey and any other child who is fighting to survive does not care how Amie raised the money that is going to help find a cure for their illness and personally I was listening to 95.5 long before Amie was a DJ so I do not know how other radio stations raise money for charities but if I ever had any questions on how to be a success at raising money Amie would be the first person I would go to for ideas! Oh yes, I never condoned Amie's comment on the radio but I can tell you that I have heard alot worse! Amie showed (in my opinion again) remorse for what she said and publicly apologized for her mistake and (in my opinion) it takes a big person to admit your mistake and ask for forgiveness. Last, as far as the "password to this site" comment, I registered just like everyone else did and if this is the way other radio stations act then I will continue to listen to 95.5 or my CDs because Amie Pollard with all of her faults has more class in her little pinkie then most of the people making comments here! And my name is spelled Ursula not Ursala--

well there ain't much more to do in the "wiregrass" other than to be angry. Is there?

al_atl, if you would hire the subject of this thread away to atlanta then we could have nice calm helpful posts and then read the atlanta boards for entertainment as you do.

"God Bless You" oh wait I need to save that "phrase" for my airshift since that's the only time I use it.
