Amp 103.3's morning show is voicetracked!

Hear ye, hear ye! I listened to Amp 103.3 this morning, and found that their morning drive show is voicetracked! In short, nobody's in the Amp 103.3 studio in the AM!

To be honest, given WXKS-107.9's long dominance in top-40, I think the only way WODS-103.3 would be able to make a dent would be as an automated Top-40/CHR format with high-energy sweepers and jingles.

With no DJ's, the station's operating costs would be lower and thus, there could be fewer commercials.

It's clear that neither one of you is familiar with the station or the SAG/AFTRA contract in place.

The morning show is not tracked.

The station is staffed 24/7. Always has been.

Staffing costs are just a small fraction of the operating costs of a major market station. No staff wouldn't mean fewer commercials.

Just because a station is "staffed" doesn't mean there are DJ live-on duty...and doesn't mean they are not voicetracked.

Also, an AFTRA contract does not preclude VT-ing...

I should have been more clear: The station is staffed with at least a board op 24/7. The major dayparts are live. As a matter of fact, the AFTRA contract in place at WODS and WBMX does cover some rules about voice tracking. It's allowed, but limited.

My point was that any savings from voice tracking or going jockless would be minimal because you're still paying someone to be in the studio at all times.

You obviously have no knowledge of how things work there if you are claiming their morning show is voicetracked. Absolutely not true. Period, end of discussion (although I am sure the discussion will continue with un-informed conversation).

I never got why every station feels the need to have a big expensive morning show. AMP's competition is Kiss and Hot, to some degree. Why not hire a ONE good host who can get in, get out be a "traffic cop" with a few elements like traffic and weather and the rest of the time PLAY MUSIC. Let the people who don't want to hear endless yakking come over to AMP. Promote it as such.

100 percent not voicetracked. TJ and Lauren are IN STUDIO every morning

230 AM post time.... I bet I know who posted the above!

CBS has live staff at each board 24/7/365.

I am not thinking that they are tracking the whole shift, some bits maybe, some interviews on the left coast sure, but morning drive in a major market.... I find that hard to believe.

lost my password.... got to get it reset!

Whoever started this chain has no idea what they are talking about and offered no proof.

Why is it voicetracked, huh? Give us one legitimate example...

They are in studio 5:30-9 every morning and never track outside of vacation "best of" shows... which is the same thing that 108, 94.5 and 96.9 do.

Because music in the morning in CHR fails because nobody has loyalty to music. The 18-24 yr old demo can get music on their phone, on Youtube, etc.
