I wonder what CBS is planning to put into the 93.1 HD-2 cage now that the current pet lab rat is set to be let loose on Friday ;D

I'm wondering what CBS is planning to put on the 97.1 HD-2 stream once KLSX dumps talk for deuschy pop music. :D

Right now it's the best of KLSX. What will it be once they rid KLSX of all talking? ???

FM Talk, we'll miss ya. :( :'( :p

It's too bad that Steve Rivers isn't well

It's too bad that Steve Rivers isn't well. He would be the PERFECT program director for AMP. I would LOVE to see a Steve Rivers/John Ivey battle-the Professor vs the student.

Um, this is proof that NO ONE listens to HD sub channels. 97.1-HD2 has been a simulcast of KFRG for at least 3 months now. I think it will continue to be a KFRG simulcast till someone actually tunes into an HD2 channel. Which will probably be at least 7 years from now.

In 7 years we'll all be talking about the demise of the FM as we'll be listening to radio on the internet via portable devices.

The Only Thing Movin 939 Should Do Is Flipped To Dance Or CHR/Dance Or Go Back What Movin 939 Was At The Begaining Some 80s,90s And Todays Hits

Why should they do that when their numbers have doubled since the advent of PPM and they're up dramatically in their target demo (now over a 2 share) and starting to finally deliver some moderate results...

Alot of mentioning of KKHR/93.1 but has anyone on these boards mentioned that this is actually 97.1's second try at Top 40 (the first having been when it inherited the format from KTNQ in 1979) as "K-Hits" KHTZ??

My bad :'(
thanks for the correction likeaboss ;)

I'm listening to what's called KLSX Too on Winamp / AOL CBS radio. I guess they're running this as Froggie has its own stream. :-X

So will the AOL/CBS stream continue? The best of what once was? One can only hope. ;D

With a name like "Amp," they're gonna look back on when the frequency had a 1.5 and those'll be the good ol' days.

Storer Broadcasting's K-Hits 97 FM, which was the entire Ten-Q staff (at 338 S. Western Ave.), was great taking over from the former country format (former KGBS). No thanks though to Greater Media when they bought it and ruined it with their New Jersey corporate mentality.

K-Hits 97 was one spooky place, being that is was once a funeral home, after the Lieberman's came in and took out all the beautiful equiptment that Ten Q had and left us with a green makeshift board with 6 unmatched cart machines that had no remote starts. Our last weekend on Western Ave. we were in mono - without a stereo pilot signal - before the move to 3580 Wilshire as the STL had already been moved and we lost the stereo phone line pair. Fun times though with Bobby Rich. He'd always pull the wool over the syping eyes from New Jersey.

Two hours after the flip (flop) and AOL/CBS KLSX Two is playing Adam. If you have Winamp you can tune the stream in.

There was a story, think it was quoted in an old Billboard of that era, about the "foibles of automation" (at the time, when the "art", if you want to call it that, of automation, had not yet been perfected, sadly, as it is today), that when Pope John Paul I passed (after his brief time in office before JP II took over), the jock at KHTZ, which had already changed calls but was still Country, paused the automation to announce the passing of the Pontiff....Apparently, the next song in the automation sequence was "Drop Kick Me Jesus".

Not blowing up "Movin" is now going to hurt Emmis even more now... Emmis really could have put the squeeze on KIIS from BOTH ends... now that isn't going to happen. What a poorly run organization.
[/quote]

I wouldn't expect Emmis to have gone CHR since it would hurt Power 106.

Emmis could of went Hot AC on 93.9 playing The Fray, Lifehouse, and other pop rock bands.

As for 97.1 AMP Radio, they sound right in the middle of POWER and KISS.
