Amp 98.7 Beats Channel 95.5 In Detroit

Would have thought someone might of posted about this already on the CHR board. I believe this is the first time the new comer 98.7 Amp Radio has beaten Channel 95.5 in the ratings. Amp went from 3.1 to a 4.3 while Channel went from a 4.3 to a 3.8. Also the CUME for both stations went up with Channel's (1,254,300) CUME being higher then Amp's (1,033,000).

June Ratings Detroit

WDTW is the lowest rated FM Clear Channel owns in Detroit.

Detroit overall is taken by CBS Radio with 4 of their stations in the top 5. With all 5 of them with a different sound. Unlike Clear Channel which stations somewhat compete with each other.

Getting back to Amp beating Channel, Im not surprised. To me it seems Amp has a better playlist. Wonder what the next book will be like if Amp goes up ever more.

I have to look at AMP and Channel's playlists again because last time I checked/listened, Channel 95.5 was more "fun", and was also a lot more interesting and musically diverse with mix show play.

This was a few months back.

Very interesting battle! Detroit is the best market right now for pop music lovers. 2 Hot ACs, Fresh and WDVD. 3 Top40 955, AMP, The Beat. And one AC, Magic 105.1

Fresh, WDVD and the Beat are amazing stations.
