AMP looking AGAIN

rockandroll

In the trades On-Air Program Director for WBWB-FM needed now! How many people ever see a first year anniversary at AMP? Must be one of the lowest numbers in the biz ???

Actually, AMP's Bloomington stations seem to be the most stable as far as on-air personalities go. I don't think WHCC's line-up has changed in years and Pam Thrash has been with B 97 for quite a few years as well. Speaking of Pam, isn't she the PD for WBWB? What's the scoop?

Here's the scoop from the scoopee? ;)I have actually been filling in as the Program Director of B97 for a little over a year until we could get to a point where we were ready to look for a new P.D. I've been on-air here since 1998 and continue to be while also serving as Operations Manager/Promotions Director. So, I'm looking forward to finding someone to ad to the team so I can relinquish one of my many hats! And yes, the WHCC staff has been steady for awhile now.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting rid of one of those hats, Pam. I wear 5 of them at my station, and it can be a little overwhelming at times. Good luck with the PD search and keep up the great work down in Bloomington!

AM drive seems to be changing alot on WBWB, so its not all roses. :'(

Thanks for the positive feedback...so very constructive "rocknroll". That's why I generally stay out of commenting...seems like you have to be miserable about this incredibly fun business to fit in.

Oh please! Maybe if you cant handle an "observation" you SHOULD stay out of here. I've seen far worse comments about AMP on this board. Instead of jumping all over him, maybe you could address his issue. Whats the story with the turnover in morning drive? Pretty straightforward comment, Pam.

So, "it's not all roses" is a straight forward comment? No...I think it's an unfounded dig. Let's see...it was me and Kevin in the morning from 1998-2005, Kevin exited in his own for a career change, then Dana Marshall was with us for a short time in early 2005 before moving to WAZY in Lafayette (AMP) in the summer of 2005...now I'm back on mornings and have been for a year. So, other than a few months off the mornings...I've been there for awhile now...not to mention I've been hosting the noon-hour since 1998. This has been a really fun career for me...so I like to stay as positive as I can. Radio is a crazy world that I choose to hang out in as long as I can. There's your answer.

Not to change the subject, but any new news on either U93 (WNDV) or 102.3 (WZOW) heard another sales person left WZOW, who do they have left in that group or at the station at all ???

It's not the people we hate

Keep in mind that there are some very GOOD people who work for AMP, who are stuck. It' s not them that everyone gets on, it's the ownership of the company and how it's run. The people who work there have no choice (other than to quit or get fired) but to do what upper management wants.

It is sad when you have good people, and the management doesn't care. They don't realize how they hurt people when they let them go, and how they hurt the station and the ratings. You can't do your best when you always have a fear that you never know when you are going to be asked to leave. Just don't get that type of business person. I guess money is the bottom line. But it must not be working for them, so you think they would change their tactics. Of course Art might be to old to learn, or go with new ideas :)
