Amp Radio Coming to San diego

What report did you read and how long ago was it written/reported?

Just wondering cuz the 103.7 Amp Radio rumor has surfaced many times since 97.1 launched Amp Radio in LA. I do think it would be a big success here but who knows what CBS is thinking.

Ooh! Amp vs. Channel. I thought Channel could use some competition. I hope this can happen. I just downloaded the Yahoo! Music app that includes 103.7, so I'll definitely be able to tune in if it happens.

Besides, has anyone seen the AMP vs. KIIS FM numbers?
Exactly. Been there, done that. Next!

Amp doubled its 2009 revenue in 2010. It's consistently top 10 12+ and 18-34.

It's a home run for CBS on its own and as a cluster strategy; keeping KIIS down a bit makes KROQ and other CBS properties look better in the rankers.

Yes you are right about CBS' success with AMP in L.A. And it would make sense to addit on 103.7 since Channel 9-3-3 is doing so well and it has no direct competition. (Why do people like Garett spew stuff they know nothing about?) Plus Sophie has been all over the board, once it was AAA, then modern AC, then Hot AC. Plus CBS may be canibalizing itself if Sophie is taking numbers from KYXY. But the question remains, eduardo, where did you get this info?

1. Amp is NOT beating KIIS FM.

Amp does not have to beat KIIS. There are nearly $800 million radio dollars in the LA market, and KIIS takes $50 million. That means there are a lot of dollars for the other top stations.

Radio is not a horse race or the lottery. There is no clear single winner, but, rather, many winners in each market. Sometimes the #5 station makes more money than the #1 station, too.

Amen. Being number one and spending all the revenue on talent or being number five and being the most profitable. Owners prefer profit over rankings. After all, it is a business.

I did not say Amp was not a money maker.
