Is this old news? ??? I have no idea. I just now read it.

"AMY B has left the Cumulus building at Country KPLX FM (The Wolf 99.5), Dallas, TX. PD JOHN SEBASTIAN wants your T&Rs at KPLX FM, 3500 Maple Avenue, Suite 1600, Dallas, TX 75219." (credit to Jim Rose Remembers Radio)

All Access reported it yesterday. I'm not a country listener but I think Amy was the most talented & hardest working non-morning drive jock in this town. Of course, she HAD a contract that reflected that.

I couldn't stand to listen to her. All the hee-haw, gimmicky crap was just too much. It's obvious she was a hard worker...but that type of schtick isn't my cup of tea. And don't feel TOOOO bad for her. She was doin the show from her house in Arizona. Not a bad deal at all....

Thanks for checkin' in Mr. Sebastian :D

How do you know she quit? Come on give us details. I for one thought that Amy B was truly one of the best female talents on the air today. Yes, she had her limitations. I mean with that accent she certainly wouldn't fit in all markets but her energy, drive and what she put into the show was unusual with most of todays radio talent. I don't think she fit as well in afternoons as she did in mid-days but still she will be missed. Amy if you read this, way to go girl, while you were there you put your brand on the WOLF.

Either way, CUME-less' loss is another market's gain. What's that cheeseball Cinderella song, "Don't know what ya' got 'till it's gone."

That should be the hold music at CUME's HQ. :)

'Cause I read the internal memo, and no, I'm not giving details.

Much of Amy's accent was an act though as was the one good eye. She's very good, but I liked her better in middays too. I don't know if she even wants to land somewhere else. She may just decide it's time to relax out there in Sedona.

One thing's for sure. Stocks in Sharpie markers are about to take a hit.

not quite.....I just don't need 34 SFX thrown at me in a minute long break....As someone stated earlier, Amy B was very polarizing...you loved her or hated her. And for the record, I also heard it was her decision to walk......I just cannot see how this type of programming will be a good move for the Wolf....

She was entertaining and I agree with johndoe about the sfx. It got a little tiring after a while, but that being said, she was pretty darned good. The sad part is,...what I used to think of as a dream gig, and one that I would seriously go after at this stage of my career, I wouldn't touch now with a ten foot pole. Cumulus is ruining the World Famous Wolf. That sucks.

How about only writing on the right side of the page? Or taking a knee at every major station event just to get perspective.... "Jeshush, baby..."

RIP OGE

Amy B (AKA Amy Bishop) is a dear old friend I worked with for many years in the Mobile Alabama Market, and I was sad to hear she parted ways with the Wolf. She has the kind of dedication to her craft you don't find a lot much any more, and I hope she ends up in a much better place.

Good luck!

I refuse to break the secret bond of releasing her REAL name (bishop is what she used in mobile)....as I don't want to be beatin to death by a mob of pittsberg mine workers! (inside joke).

Ok, 2 things need to be corrected here. Amy B did not do her radio show from Arizona. 2nd thing is her accent is real. The one-good eye thing was a joke. I am good friends with her and hated to see her leave.

So she was in the studios in Dallas during 3-7pm Central time???

Yup she was. There were a few times I was able to drop in the studios and watch her.
