Amy Jacobson Off The Roe Conn Show

My understanding is that she's still on staff as a news reporter.

Either way, good riddance! She is TERRIBLE on the radio - she has no pipes, the accent and diction of a bar maid from Hammond (hey Amy, there's no "a" in tomorrow or horrible and there's no "e" in Illinois!), and constantly fumbles her lines. It's just not for her and she made me cringe every time she was on the radio.

She's reasonably attractive (though not as "hot" to me as many others have said) and has a good, tough no nonsense approach to reporting. Those qualities lend themselves to television, where her gravelly voice will not be as noticeable. I hope she can find a gig back on the tube - because that's clearly where she belongs.

"Cringing"...you read my mind. I have no idea what they were thinking when the decision was first made to put Amy Jacobson on the show. Her reading and diction is unprofessional to the point of distraction and even after months she sounded like it was her first day on the air, grasping for words and stumbling through even routine copy.

I miss Christina, despite not being the sharpest tack in the drawer she had a great voice and smooth delivery. It was nice of WLS to give Amy a shot and wish her luck in News, but I'm afraid the same limitations will follow her there.

Amy Jacobson is a talent. She is smart, strong and was the voice of reason on the Roe Conn show. She was the only person to sit in that chair that stood up to Roe and made her opinions known. She gave a female point of view on an otherwise male dominated show and brought great balence. I can't believe people are hung up on diction and ability to read silly traffic reports without making mistakes.....WHO CARES. Amy's value to the show was in her great personality, her ability to get guests (when a story broke, NO ONE was better at getting influential people related to a story to come on the air), and her willingness to stand up for her own opinion. THAT is what matters.

Everyone will see in time. As Roe and Cisco's ego's battle in a passive aggressive way for air time, watch this show self distruct. Amy brought balence. Now its ALL MALE EGO and it will fail.

I wish Amy the best of luck. She will be fine and maybe she is better off getting away from the sinking ship.

Why are we critical? Because it's big-market radio - that's why. Big-market radio is supposed to feature people with pleasant voices who know how to speak clearly and smoothly. THAT is why it's called talent. Jacobson possesses none of these skills. She's just awful - poor delivery, no pipes and no attempt to speak clearly without an accent that makes her annoying to listen to, hard to understand and which makes her sound uneducated.

And, you have no idea whether Amy is smart or not versus anyone else who is on that show. Clearly she doesn't always make smart decisions - based on the incident that resulted in the loss of her TV gig.

She sounded awful on the radio and it's clearly not a good venue for her. There is just too much talent waiting in the wings to not be critical of the station for keeping her on.

As I said before, I think she belongs on TV and I hope that she's able to find a good gig on a local station. As for radio? Nope.
