An artsy tower in Fort Worth

Move over, KEOM, you're not the only one with an interesting tower. The Star-Telegram reported on a unique addition to a "radio tower" off I-20 and Campus Drive:
www.star-telegram.com/2011/07/06/3204665/fort-worth-radio-tower-takes-public.html#tvg (Click on the pic for a larger version.)

Sure, this is not a broadcast facility; it's a communications tower owned by the City of Fort Worth. But with cell phone towers designed to look like trees (e.g., in California), could this be part of a trend to make radio towers "less ugly"?

Yeah... Back when owners actually cared about their stations enough to do that and to program something worth listening to on the air too! :)

There are several like that here in the states. I've seen both pine tree and palm tree look-alikes. Some are more convincing than others :)
