AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT FROM CUMULUS

I just heard a Bob & Tom spot on 97.1 and they're debuting December 13. That should calm the nerves of the 50 people who listened to the Buzz in the morning before Free Beer & Hot Wings arrived!

"Next in line, please."

"Yes, I'd like to return this present I got just before Christmas."

"The Bob and Tom Show? Anything wrong with it?"

"Well... it doesn't exactly fit my taste. Well in fact, it's full of poor taste. I really didn't want it... oh, heck, I don't like it all."

"I'm sorry, we know what's best for our customers. Why, this goes over well in other cities. No refund."

"I wasn't really wanting a refund... just an exchange."

"What did you have in mind?"

"Could I just get the Coyote and Cathy Show instead?"

"I'm sorry, that model's no longer available. It was too old, so we stopped stocking them. They didn't go well with the remodeling we were doing at this store. We know what's best for our customers."

"But it's what I really wanted..."

"Our research proves otherwise. Anything else I can do?"

"Tell your management I'll never shop at one of their stores again!"

"Hey, we don't want your business anyway, you're too old!"

"But I'm still a 30-something!"

"You can't be, no one who had a Coyote and Cathy Show on their list is that young. Our research proves it."

"So I'm just stuck with this hideous gift?"

"I'm afraid so. We know what's best for our customers. Next in line please!"

Great post! How true......

I've also heard the promo from the BUZZ owner. He handled it very well and in the right way.

Kudos to his independent company and what they are doing.

See you in Nashville Monday when the FCC comes to town. I think its time for some Clear Channel and Cumulus bashing.

Jetfli, I was rotflmao, wonderul post.

I enjoy the music that is played on 97.1 it is what has been missing in Nashville for some time now. I would like to listen to this kind of music but in protest of the firings of Coyote and Cathey and Bobby Knight I will not be listening to 97.1. It is a bad idea to upgrade the music but downgrade the talent, plus a five hour block in the morning of B&T, how lame can you get. A better playlist but less music (since none will be played from 5 till 10 A.M.).

jetfli you are correct. B&t good for the buzz bad for the 97-1. a deal was made with the devil whom by the way was just here in the building all the way from the atl.

too bad he didn't stop the smoking deck to hear how great the skinny rambo is doing on saturday night.

love your work jet, see you in hallway.

You know, I thought I was being pretty funny with the little piece I wrote earlier in this thread. But nothing — NOTHING — can top the "public service" spot I heard earlier today in which Dickert is imploring listeners to avoid the Internet this Christmas and shop local merchants instead. A worthy idea to buy locally, and good PR for the sales deparment. But wait, here's the FUNNY part — In telling why we shoud think locally, he adds, ha-ha-ha, something like "just as we hire local people and have local programs whenever possible"!!!! HAW HAW HAW HAW *snort* HAW HAW HAW HAW! Oh, HOO! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. *whew* *whew* HAW HAW HAW HAW, oh I can't help it, somebody stop me, HAW HAW HAW HAW! I nearly had a wreck when first heard it and I can't stop laughing hours later!!
