With all due respect to our friends in Evansville and Ft. Wayne, now that Indy is officially a top 40 market, Why can't we have our own forum? Just a suggestion.

We're currently reviewing the site layout and weighing changes. A great discussion has been ongoing on the Ask Radio-Info board about the markets users would like to see on the site. I'd appreciate it if everyone with thoughts on the matter would post their opinions and the reasons behind them on the below topic. Site management is gathering suggestions about possible changes and the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

I'll bite. I think that board management should seriously consider adding an Indy board. While I am way too lazy to go back and track topic posts for the last year, I would bet that at least 50% of those on the Indiana board were either about Indy or were Indy-related topics.
While I don't live in Indy, and never managed to work there, I would pleased to drop in and contribute.

Thanks again for this forum.

I prefer to have all of Indiana together. Carving a hole out of the middle of a state doesn't seem like a good idea.
Yep, I would have to agree....

I think that if you take Indy out of Indiana, what's left in Indiana will probably end up like the Kentucky board is...new posts sometimes weeks apart. Cast my vote for leavin' it as is...

People in KY can't type...

Not very often anyways judging from the KY board.

I used to work in Ohio and I like to keep up with whats going on...

About a year or so ago the Ohio board was split into 4 seperate boards ???.. Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Ohio.... It is so frustrating haveing to go through 4 seperate boards... Half the time you dont know which board to post stuff on... I.E. Is Dayton considered Ohio or Cincinnati?.. Knowone knows, so postings go to both boards... Much of the time the same thing twice... Plus nothing is posted on the Ohio board for 6-9 months at a time and if you do post something.. you better not want any replies... I say leave Indianapolis with Indiana...

Either that or make them seperate but when you click on the Indianapolis link it shows just Indianapolis discussions, and when you click on Indiana it shows both Indianapolis and state-wide discussions... They should do that with every state board... it would make both sides happy.

You're right about the Ohio boards. No one knows what to do with Toledo and Lima, and when Dayton posts get too numerous on the Cincy board (despite the powers that be at R-I saying that's where they belong, there are often complaints about "why Dayton doesn't get their own board and stop people posting Dayton stuff on the Cincy board".

I'm not interesting in alienating all the other broadcasters in the state; there are tons of great broadcasters in many Indiana markets. I'm also certain anyone and everyone would still be welcome to participate in discussions on an dedicated Indianapolis site, and the Indiana site would obviously also continue to faciliate discussions statewide as well. I just think Indianapolis needs to be represented.

Indianapolis is one of very few large markets on this site that doesn't have it's own forum, separate from the rest of the state. The lack of such an Indy-only forum could inappropriately reinforce the perception that this market is really "India-noplace" with other broadcasters across the country. An Indianapolis-only site would be more inviting to broadcasters from large markets in other states. It could open up a wider range of thoughts and opinions from these large market broadcasters on subjects shared in these market sizes. As is, other large market broadcasters don't seem to participate at all on the Indiana board. It's probably too cumbersome to surf through all the subject postings on the state board to find subject discussions of interest to them. Some of the other large market boards seem to get cross-state, cross-market interaction, which I think does create more comprehensive dialog on subjects.
