  • Disclaimer 1: I am not a radio-insider. I am not selling, renting, buying or (PowerPoint) presenting anything. (I feel like Lloyd Dobbler.)

Disclaimer too: The proximity to Coyote McCoud's death I purely accidental. (I've been planning this for a year.)

*Btw, does anyone know of a good (+ cheap) web-hosting, and/or -design company?

    My e-mail: [email protected]

What's in it for me: The chance to meet some of my all-time heroes.

What's in it for you: An excuse to get together. (I don't know how often you do.)

What it is: An INVITE to a Shoneys back room (or other semi-private place, agreeable to the group) to look at some old music surveys.

When it is: How is May since Buddy Sadler's birthday (I belive) is the 31st? (I don't know anyone else's birthday.)

Why: I have collected a lot of those little, sometimes-colored, sheets of paper with the Top 40 or Top 30 songs of the week. (To the “tune” of):
    • 97 WKDA-am (pop)
    • 57 WKDA-am (country)
    • 119 WKDA-fm/WKDF (prog-rock! [or at least prog-pop])
    • 156 WLAC-am (pop)
    • 269 WMAK (pop)
    • 54 WSM-am (pop) [The one-time tag line: “Country: Always has been, always will be” patently false. Here's the proof.]

    Honorary Nashville stations:
    • 98 WCFL (Chi.) pop
    • 114 WLS (Chi.) pop
(plus, misc. local + unlocal stations, duplicates of the above + stores' music lists, notably Sears)

If you'd like to meet at Shoneys, here are the area restaurants and their preferences (including available weekend hours):

1)Interstate Drive – Sat & Sun nights only
    2)Thompson Lane – Sat & Sun ok
3)White Bridge Road – Sat & Sun ok
    4)Donelson – after 3 Sat & Sun
    5)Opriyland – Sat & Sun ok
    6)Bellevue – 5/7 and 5/14 taken already
    7)Madison – after 2 Sat & Sun
8)Long Hollow Pk – prefer between 2-4 Sat & Sun

If we do go to a restaurant, it would be nice to purchase some food. I may feel I need to reimburse them some for the space + time, depending on how much the group spends.

So let me know if you'd like to. Which Shoneys (or other place). And what dates would be good for you. (To be honest, I'm going to be a little disappointed if there is no interest!)

P.S. I also have just short of 3,000* albums (lps, 8-tracks!, cassettes, cds) [*Total includes duplicates.] I will NOT be bringing them.

For a few minutes after you create a post, there is a [MODIFY] button up at the top of your fresh new message next to the {QUOTE] button.

It is good policy to immediately pull up your newly posted messages to see if they look the way you expected. sometimes when you are including a quote like I did at the top of this message, things do not come out the way you expected. That is particularly true when you have multiple quote buried like this:

POST SCRIPT: This turned out to be a perfect example. Notice that I had to use { before the word q u o t e Button. When I used the [ before the word q u o t e the whole message went crazy. So, I used the [MODIFY] one TWO THREE more time times and fixed it.
