An Olympic change

Women beach volleyball players don’t have to wear bikinis at Olympics

"Women beach volleyball players won't have to wear bikinis at the 2012 London Olympics. A new rule announced Tuesday says that participants in this summer's beach volleyball competition can wear shorts and sleeved tops."

I thought NBC was trying to get all the viewers they could get! So much for that! :D ;)

Supposedly this change was made so that competitors from "more conservative countries and cultures"
can participate.

Which is fine with me. Although from checking out the Miss Universe Pageant it seems there
are only a handful of mainly Muslim countries which seem to object to the bikini.

It seems silly to have that rule, I mean with the Internet and all, you don't need to watch scantily clad women at the Olympics.

I agree, but I'm also a guy, a straight male, so I say the more bikini there is, the better it is for my eyes. ;D

Perhaps they're also considering the idea of attracting more women to watching the sport?

I wonder how the last three posters would feel if they were required to wear clothing revealing a lot of skin while playing a sport in front of an audience of potentially millions of viewers? I'm glad the players would be allowed to choose whichever set of clothing they would feel comfortable wearing. It may build confidence and contribute to their games.

In the next Summer Olympics, they will add Nude Beach Volleyball! Then they won't have to create a rule.

I wonder if that would meet Jerry Seinfeld's definition of "good naked"?

It would be a ratings hit! Highest numbers that NBC has ever seen in it's history. They would probably run out of ad spots to sell.

Live in HD & 3D: Nude Beach Volleyball Only On NBC!

That would cause the PTC, FRC, and all the other right wing groups to pee themselves!

Okay, you're right. Bang on! It's not just about ratings. It's also about getting GOLD...any way the team can...even if it means choice of clothing.
