Oasis and Cold Play have the hottest CD's out now, also, they are selling out everywhere they appear, so why isn't YSP playing these two great bands?, plus hundreds of other Alternative acts. Like we all said, the Alternative music is out there, but its not promoted.

I'd agree with ColdPlay, but Oasis?? They have a "hot cd" out?

No they dont...

"Speed Of Sound" would fit in nicely on Q102. But it doesnt feature a cameo from Ludacris, so they'll never play it.

I did hear them play The Killers today and was shocked. Looking at the inqui this morning I found it interesting that The Foo Fighters, Dave Mathews and Cold Play are all in the top 10 selling albums in the region/country...and no one is playing them with any sort of regularity...ohhh where have you gone Y...ahhh, ok I realize, enough already.

For that reason Wex, I have turned to satellite radio. Sure, its nice to hear Coldplay(and sometimes Dave Matthews)on MMR, however they don't own the bands like Y100 did, and they never will. In fact, hearing Coldplay on MMR just doesn't feel honest (like they're trying to cash in on something that doesn't belong to them).

The recent trends show MMR up a bit, which could be a result of Y listeners jumping on their ship, however it's still not enough to reflect all Y's listeners. Where did we go? Do we drive around in silence? CD's? Ipods? I'm banking it's satellite and internet radio.

Will we ever come back, I can only speak for myself...hell no.

Agree - WMMR really should change their calls to WMMRY / 93.300...the Y100 listener had a true "relationship" with their station. I couldn't imagine a more loyal p1. Now in the car it's a lot of button pushing trying to find a good song and sadly landing on KYW.

I also think that the mystery about where did the Y100 listener go is foreshadowing of what is to come in 6 months, 7 days and 11 hours from now (if not sooner) - where did the Howard Stern audience go?

I really think WYSP is in BIG BIG BIG trouble. Did I say BIG? I heard for the first time this morning an ad recruiting advertisers...not a good sign. They are losing their identity and their main competition beat them to the punch in securing a future.

When I was off last week I heard "Best of You" from the Foo Fighters several times daily on MMR. I know Dave MAthews is a current artist, but his sound seems more like MGK, B or BEN in my opinion. Oasis?

YSP calls themselves "Philly's #1 rock station" not Philly's #1 alternative station. That's really not their personality. They are more like a smelly, obnoxious, drunk K&A biker than a thoughtful, sensitive, literate, Main Line sophomore.
