AN106.7 Analog Transmitter Down A Few Minutes Today

AN106.7s analog transmitter when off air for about five minutes around 4:27PM today. The HD transmitter remained on the air and streaming continued to work. The talent did not know to keep broadcasting on HD and stream because the stopped while waiting for the analog transmitter to come back up. It was kinda funny hearing "testing 1 2 3".:) I was on the downtown connector and called someone I know at the station to let them know HD and streaming was still on. All part of the learning curve of having readers/anchors run the board.

Back in the day when we all had to have a 3rd class phone license and do the transmitter readings every three hours meant we had a basic understanding of the audio chain and transmitter controls. I know... I am showing my age.

similiar thing happened long ago when Nashville's WSIX-FM was simulcasting mornings on (then) WSIX-AM:
the FM transmitter went off...and since it was the air monitor...the air talent was unaware that
the AM was humming right along! I called the hotline before anything bad hit the air...
