ANALOG SHUTDOWN TIMIMG

Re: ANALOG SHUTDOWN TIMIMG in Philadelphia

What about in Philly? What times will each Philadelphia, PA TV station will turn their analog signals off?

Who at the FCC is going to be ballsy enough to fine stations for staying on 'too long' because of the game? Are there going to be compliance officers staffed at every station in the country or something?

UPDATE: KTVA in Anchorage may have been the first in Alaska to sign on in 1953, but I just read the notice that they're going to be the last to shut off their analog signal between noon-6:00 pm TOMORROW!

Already realized all along that we in Alaska will be one of the last in the nation to bid analog TV farewell; the commercial stations won't flip the switch until 11:59:59 PM Friday night.

But come this weekend, expect a whole lot of signoffs from all 50 states to be taking over YouTube.

All these stations are gonna notice huge drop offs of people watching!! (@ least for awhile)

The digital transition has rang the death knell of Broadcast television. The broadcast industry shot itself in the foot with the digital transition. Now the media companies will have so many distressed assets!!! <ouch> I'll be watching on the internet now, listen to the news on non-commercial radio, and ¡gasp! buy and read the newspaper. Apple TV may takeoff!

Channels 3 and 57 12:30 PM, Channel 6 12:15 PM, Channel 10 noon. Don't know about the other stations.

We'll see now how tough those Youtube servers are! ;D
