ANALOG TO DIGITAL/HD

I already know about the analog-to-digital countdown for TV (02-17-2009). What is the exact date for the changeover for radio?

Depends on whose radios we're talking about.

There is no countdown. There is no intention at this point to sunset analog transmission or to require digital transmission. What I have heard is that if at some point in the future, analog receivers are as common as 8-track players, the former may be discontinued from lack of interest. I don't see that happening anytime soon and probably not within my lifetime.

The FCC has already stated that they see no reason to impose such a deadline for radio. The big difference is that TV stations will be returning one of their two channels for re-use after the 2/19/2009 deadline. Radio won't.
