And another dance track added to wpow..

Looks like its Yves Larock's Rise Up... Its listing on yes.com as #46 on the station, with about 6 spins since 3-16..

I new this song was gonna be big after hearing it back in august on Z103-5 in canada.... another song id like to see on wpow is I Want ur Soul by Armand Van Heldon...

That's cool, I emailed DJ Laz about that track a few weaks ago, I told him it was a very tropical Carribean Flavored dance song, he said he would give it a listen and pass on the info. 8) 8) Im not saying that they wouldnt have eventually added it anyway, but its a nice thought to think I may have opened their eyes to this song. Its nice that Beasley pretty much lets the PDs play what they want, and they dont have to go through all the suits and consultants to get permission to play it.

On XMs Rhythmic THE HEAT, they played (I want ur soul) last fall for about 1 week, and then it dropped off never to be heard from again. ::) I guess it didnt test too well, I want your soul probably isnt the most Rhythmic friendly Dance song out there. A good song from Armand Van Heldon to play on Power, or other Rhythmics would be TOUCH YOUR TOES, which feature's Fat Joe rappin on it.

Another dance song that fits very well into what they are doing. It's got the right vibe to fit alongside the Hip Hop/R&B the station plays.

Now the need to break out "Waterman" by Olav Basoski & Michie One to really make me happy. :)

"Waterman" was our #2 song for 2006. What a great song. For the US it may have been ahead of it's time. It should have been on CHR stations.

Mike,

I agree and I figure that since they can play a David Guetta record that's a couple of years old, why not re-visit this one. Of course, my company may not agree with me. ;)

What about Master's at Work-(WORK) another older dance song with a real Urban Carribean feel that would fit right in on Power and other Dance friendly rhythmics. Power did play Bad Yard Club- In Da Ghetto back in 96 when it was new, and the MAW track sounds alot like that one.

Backtracking a sec...on a New York level, I'd love it for Pulse (and for that matter in Miami WPOW from "post" Party 93.1) to add in some tracks from about 2 - 3 years ago that would have most likely been on rotation but haven't had the chance to flourish since there were very few outlets in the country spinning it.
