And Another KFBK Item...

While checking out KFBK's streaming audio to hear what they were doing in Mark Williams' vacation absence, I just heard a KFBK voice...in his new job.

I'm not sure if it got mentioned, but former KFBK reporter and weekend anchor Todd Starnes is now working for Fox News Radio as its overnight (ET) anchor. Congrats to Todd!

I also didn't know that Todd apparently once had a weekend morning talk show on Clear Channel talker WLAC/1510 in Nashville. I found that out at his own website:

http://www.toddstarnes.com/default.asp

His stint at KFBK isn't mentioned, as the site as a whole hasn't been updated much since he left WLAC...but it does note his new job on the opening page.

In case you're wondering about the first question...nothing interesting. They're running TRN's Jerry Doyle, who isn't there HIMSELF tonight...he's in repeat mode.

"I'm not here, and neither is the guy filling in for me!" :)

Well, Laura Ingraham fills in for John Gambling on WABC, and she herself wasn't there Tuesday. Larry Marino filled in; too bad the lines were busy, I wanted to call in and congratulate him on taking a break from being a whored-out gold and colon cleansing huckster to showcase his non-talent on national radio.

As to Mark Williams, though, anyone is better than this santimonious hypocrite. Didn't he used to be a liberal... (ask the belowmentioned Mr. Leykis about him)

Todd was a great reporter at KFBK and a pleasure to work with...

He was a true professional and demanded the highest level of perfection from those around him.

I got the impression from Todd that he was terribly frustrated at KFBK. His site is either out of date or he really didn't like his time at KFBK. :)
______________

In all honesty, I had a great ride at KFBK. I had the pleasure of working with some of the finest folks in the business. And Smitty --- the best IT guy I've ever worked with. Our engineering team was awesome. It was tough leaving KFBK --- but Fox News is great and there are some wonderful people here. They've brought some great folks on board --- Dave Anthony a former Nashville guy, Lisa Brady --- etc.

As for Sacramento --- what an amazing city. And what a great radio market.

God bless!

You never know what kind of riff raff you're going to get on this board. I had a feeling that was you Todd.

Very much enjoy hearing you on Fox Todd, you sound great!

Congrats, Todd, and Welcome!

Wow. You post an item about someone, and you invoke him! Welcome to the board, Todd. I've heard you quite a bit, both online and in a visit to Sacramento a few months and change back, but I didn't get a chance to meet you. Judy Farah recommended that I catch up with you at some point, if that gives you any reference. :) But unfortunately, timing got in the way.

Congrats again on the Fox News Radio gig. They had a bit of a rocky ride at first with some of the folks they put on the air early, frankly, but bringing you on and some of the others you mention is definitely a sign that they're serious about this radio thing.

In my current home location, I'll get to hear you every overnight on local FNR affiliate WHLO/640.

And that Saturday newsblock anchoring gig is perfect practice for network radio. :)
