Night guy Adam Scott exits. Did Clear Channel buy the station or what? That's two gone in less than a week. Wait till their #1 fan Runrigger sees this one. I think his blood pressure is about to skyrocket.

New PD arrived last week I believe. Now the question is whether he decided on these changes this quickly or if management had them planned all along and just waited for him to get here. I'd bet on the latter. He was prod director too so I'm guessing that title will go to Kevin Lawrence since Jessica is MD. Samantha Cody who does weekends and fill in is on now. Will she get the shift? Will it be tracked? Will they go with syndication? I think they still have a live overnight jock. How long will that last?
 
Hmmmm... Sounds like prep for voice tracking or bird feed. I'm thinking Hall is turning that slot to part-time. Why pay a f/t salary & benefits??
When part-time is easier. Take a portion of Adam & Sam's previous salary. Give a small portion of that to others that will cover. And give the
rest to the new program director...
 
I would only imagine piping in someone from sister country station WCTY/Norwich is next on the list... Of course, such practices are very un-Hall-like of them - then again, I'm told large portions of their oldies station in New London are VT-ed, and it sure doesn't sound as such to me...
 
WCTK sounds better than WCTY. If anything I could see piping in the Providence station to Norwich. Looks like Hall is learning the ropes and following suit with the rest of this market. Sad

WCTK has been on top of the Providence ratings as of late. They would be stupid to screw this station up by turning it to bird feed. Dear lord does the insanity ever stop?
 
Hall is advertising for a night jock on their Burlington country station WOKO. They want someone who can work phones, do remotes, etc, so I don't see them putting less effort into a Providence night show than they would in Vermont. Strange though since I always thought Adam Scott did a good job both on air and in production. I doubt it was a case of eliminating one of the higher priced people since he was there only a couple of years. Ironically a few jocks from WOKO came down to WCTK and eventually either left or were let go. Maybe you're better off staying in Vermont for job security with this company.
 
No sense continuing to complain about these layoffs. It is what it is & it sucks. I remember the days when you had to be some sort of liability or had a personality conflict with the PD to be let go. Now it happens to the best of them.
