...And Apparently, They Too Have A Consultant.

For me, I'm Pro Gates, and mostly happy with Windows. No one can acuse me of being a "Mac User". I don't i-tunes,...or i-anything. If you bite the Apple, that's up to you, but not me, and my usage of a computer. On one of the other topics, I stated that (on 9/13/96)THE PLANET both listed, and began broadcasting as a "Modern Rock" format. Now, some have reported, No, they are an "Active Rock". For me, currently, as Awww-ful as they sound,...Who In The Flyin' Fudgecake cares? All this might be just another step in the agenda of some Record Label...or just more fodder from some hemroidal Consultant. Apparently, Windows must also...have a Consultant: If you rip a CD to you HD, using Windows Media, the software will sync-up the songs titles, and various other dittles of info, including "Genre". My problem is that most of it is not correct: Blondie was one of the first band's to help launch the "New Wave" movement, here in America. When I ripped their first two albums, they list as "Alternative"(to what?). The Cars also were in on it, and they rip as "Rock". Elvis Costello was part of the British New Wave movement, and his albums also list as "Alternative". Pink Floyd's "Atom Heart Mother" gets "Pop", whereas their 2-CD best of..."Echoes" gets "Rock & Roll". A legitimate "Alternative" band, that was part of the early 80's Alternative movement, REM, finds their second album, "Reckoning", as..."Unknown Genre". Yes,...they too...at Windows...have a Consultant!
