..."FLICK" from KISS in Youngstown. Bank on it.

From allaccess:

>>Flick Flees, Nights Open At WAKZ
CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/Mainstream WAKZ (KISS FM)/YOUNGSTOWN night slammer FLICK is movin' on down the road, so to speak, which leaves a prime nights gig for the best and the brightest. Send your package via snail mail -- NOT e-mail -- to PD SEAN STEVENS at 7461 S. Avenue, YOUNGSTOWN, OH 44512<<

I listened to his voice on his myspace page and he sounded very good. He could in my opinion by a great fit for the new B 94.

Agreed, I predict he'll be on nights on B.

Apparantly he has indeed been hired to do nights and is already in the building running the board during the evening...a little strange, eh? I guess they want to wait until every daypart is filled before letting anyone go on the air.

My Old Producer/Stunt Guy!!!---Great Guy, Great Talent, Hard Worker, Great Friend, Listens and Learns!.He's Prgressed Well The Past 4 yrs..Will do a kick ass Night show! All Bias aside...Congrats To Ryan BTW...Theeee most talented guy I've ever worked with..abomb...

Flick's myspace, now has a picture of the B94 logo.

So that officially answers that. Now, what about the rest of the lineup?

Hey, I've been spending the afternoon listening to the stream, and no more than 2 minutes ago, I heard Flick doing a promo for his debut on-air broadcast, I do believe for B94's In Da Club

All Access confirms Flick will be doing nights on B. The post also stated that Ryan Mill will be hiring more staff soon along with a "hot" morning show.

I heard Flick on his first remote broadcast that was on B 94 from some club and he sounded very good.

Personally I think he's pretty green. Think back to former B night jocks like Bender, Mason, Zack Sabo, etc. No offense to Flick, but he's nowhere near the level they were at when they held down nights. If this was 1997 and not 2007, Flick would be a parttimer at best at B.

Unfortunately, the up and coming CHR talent pool isn't what it was even 5 short years ago...and because of this, Flick jumps right from Youngstown nights to Pittsburgh nights - when there probably should have been a stop in between for the kid to hone is craft and get his game to A-mode.

Actually, I disagree with you. Flick isn't Adam Bomb, by any stretch of the imagination, but he is pretty solid in his own right. Remember, the guy's probably pretty damn nervous still about being on B94, especially with as many expectations as the market has for the radio station. Once he's totally comfortable in there, I think Pittsburgh is in for a pretty damn good night show.

Best of luck, Flick!

I haven't heard Flick yet, so I can't give an opinion on how he sounds, but I also disagree with the sentiment that the jock of today can't hold a candle to the jock of yester-year.

Just like people do in general, we tend to remember things from our past in such a high esteem, that we think that nothing current could ever be as good. Call it the "good ol' days" syndrome. It could be music, movies, television, ball players, or DJ's; it could never be as good as it was "back then".

I was putting in the O'brien & Garry cd thinking how hilarious those old bits were and as I was listening, I was thinking that they seemed a lot funnier back then than they are now. It was still funny, but not as funny as I remembered.

Things are never as good as they were in "our day", but like the Billy Joel song Keeping the Faith said, "The good old days weren't always good and tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems."

Thanks indebiz, also A-Bomb too. I am really looking forward to having some fun here! I'm pumped!

radiomayor2: There has been a TON of great guys out of Youngstown. Also wayyyyy up on that list: Jagger who is now on KTU-NYC & Kasper WAKS-Cleveland. All those guys you mentioned before and these guys are my idols man.

Thanks for the kind comments guys!
