St. Louis Station Suspends Two DJs From "The Beat"
July 15, 2005
Kaos and Syllli Asz, two morning radio air personalities from KATZ (The Beat)/St. Louis, have been suspended after making "inappropriate" comments about police officers on their radio show Wednesday (7/14). The pair discussed with callers on the air how to injure police officers and take away their radios so they couldn't call for help.
"I want to extend my sincere apologies for the comments made on the Kaos Morning Show," KATZ General Manager Lee Clear said in a statement. "The comments were entirely inappropriate, and we have reprimanded and suspended the announcers."
Some officers who have taken offense to the remarks and want the pair fired and are calling for a boycott of station owners Clear Channel.

A real black eye for Clear Channel.
You know, with the Miss Jones/Tsunami crap earlier this year and now this, sometimes I wonder if there should be a mandatory intelligence test for morning show jocks. A sample question would be:
What reaction should you expect from the law enforcement community if you suggest beating a cop senseless and taking his/her radio?
A. A fun-filled morning with lots of zany laughs and cheers.
B. Increased support for further relaxation of media ownership rules.
C. General apathy and shoe-gazing slacker indifference.
D. You got some s--t on your hands...<P ID="signature">______________
