And For The First Time In 20 Years...

FNX plays Prince! Yes, as of 2:30AM they played "I WIll Die 4 U". Now while they did not play that as a current they did used to play both "Kiss" and "1999" when they first came out as well.

They played all the Purple Rain hits when the movie came out('84?)...as did WBCN.

I rememebr jamn used to play "lets go crazy" like 12 years ago.

I think its great WFNX is playing old Prince songs, pretty much anything between "For You" and "purpl Rain" still resonate today.

Ahhh, ok, there was about a 2 year gap when from when I listened to WLYN to when I first heard WFNX, in November of that year.

Hey, I had WZLX on Sat. nite, heard "Lights Out" by UFO. I almost drove off the road, was going to call in and commend the DJ , then realized it was Alice Coopers sydicated show. silly me. Later that night it was back to 'ZLX ""shuffle mode"" i.e the same 20 songs, but in "shuffle"
by the way, first "shuffle" song: Hotel California....LAME

Does anyone here listen to FNX's "Leftover Lunch" weekdays from Noon-1p? For a few weeks now I have made it a ritual to catch the last half hour of this program on my way home from work...

It's great to hear lost gems such as "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush and "Paranoimia" by Art Of Noise (w/ Max Headroom!)... Makes me feel old though lol

fnx would be better off going classic rock. note that the first mention of them in awhile is that they are playing prince. go figure.

i'm diggin' 'fnx a lot more these days since the music's gotten more interesting. Their 12+ ratings also seem to be finally climbing up towards where they used to be back when Kurt St. Thomas programmed during the station's glory days.

They can play Prince all they want as far as i'm concerned.
