... and now George takes the High Road

NSSBob reported on the Low Road regarding the Fan a couple of threads back, now today's Media Insider column points us to the High Road. Seems George refused to comment on WNFN's loss of local programming, and boy he certainly could have. Now I know a couple of you out there who've worked with him and think he's a bit uppity, but on any work I've ever done with him, he's proven to be this High Road kind of guy. At least for the public eye, he's refusing to gloat. But I imagine with him it's like those "shadow" cartoons from Mad several years ago, in which a person would have a humble expression on his face, but his shadow is kicking up his heels.

Agreed, the only high point of Organ's column was what George said. And I wouldn't doubt for a second that George was the happiest man in Nashville after hearing the news. I don't know if this is common knowledge or not, but things between George and Sportsnight did not end smoothly. ;-)~<P ID="signature">______________

No, George wasn't the happiest person in town. He got all the pub, but several other people in this market were stabbed in the back by Mr. Fulton. They would be first in line, closely followed by all those who were subjected to working under him in some capacity over the years. He was a terrible person to have to work for or with if you weren't his boss, unless you were his boss and he had successfully moved you out of the way.

He is one of the worst people to ever come through this market as far as treating people and I am one who he stabbed. I'm glad he's gone and more so than George and Georgie wanted him gone a TON as he'd say.

The only reason I would be sad to see Sportsnight go would be the fact that it brings in another syndicated product. I hope that, at some point, 106.7 puts some local sports talk back on in evening drive. Not that I was a fan of Blake and Joe but sometimes the sound of Plaster and McFarland makes me want to pull out my fingernails. They could learn a bit from Willy on how to be humble and how to listen to a caller.
