...and now NBC is buying shows from Conan's procuction company

Already answered: business is business, indeed. They never said they were severing ties on the production end. They offered him a change in his gig, he didn't want it, they parted ways on one front.

Hey, even "Poker After Dark" needs a good lead-in show!

Can't NBC come up with something else for that overnight spot? They were doing so good with reruns of Tonight and Late Night, and SNL classics on the weekend.....Poker After Dark just stinks....

The last paragraph reads...

As part of O'Brien's settlement,
his NBC-based company was to
continue to operate at NBC Universal
through the end of the development
season.

When is the 'development season'? Any shows that NBC orders, will they then own them
when Conaco Productions vacates the premises?

A while back NBC had bought the show 'Ed' from Letterman's Worlwide Pants Incorporated.
This was after his move to CBS.

As somebody said above, business is business. 20th Century Television (News Corp) sells programming to all networks, not just Fox. On occasion, I've seen CBS productions on NBC.

Whether or not you think Conan was mistreated by NBC - I'm sure Conan would not turn down the money NBC will pay him for a show. In fact, he made it clear on his last night that he was grateful for the many years he'd spent at NBC. Conversely, NBC would be stupid to turn down a good show because of the recent fiasco.
