Last December, CBS management told WRMM and employees of the other two lesser FM’s that it would be their last Christmas party together because the stations were up for sale. Well next month marks one full year since the ‘sale’ was announced and still CBS operates WRMM and the other two stations. Happy Second anniversary! Let’s see who throws you a Christmas party next year.
Brother Wease reportedly told the folks at Entercom he wants the same treatment he’s currently getting; his own studio, plus keeping his posse’. Word from Mill Street is that Entercom executives told Wease he gets one studio and he might even lose some of his morning crew as part of a cost-cutting measure. (That doesn’t spell good news for some people at WPXY who brag about their six-figure salaries).
Speaking of cost-cutting, WXXI has been advertising for months now for two part-time positions. One is for a fill-in talk show host when Dr. Bob goes on vacation. That means if you’re available just four weeks out of the year, you might qualify. Does this mean there isn’t anyone currently employed in the WXXI news department that can fill-in for Smith when he takes vacation? Where’s Scott Fybush or Curt Smith when you need them? Plus the TV station is looking for a part-time reporter-producer for their Friday night news & public affairs program. An applicant must be available three days a week. I'm sure those resumes are just piling up in the HR department.
