AM Program Director

AM Program Director (Job #100DZ): WBNS-AM, the flagship home of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Columbus Blue Jackets is seeking a creative, sports minded Program Director. This position is responsible for creating a “benchmark stationality” that separates “1460 the Fan” from the other stations while maintaining strong ratings. The successful candidate will oversee the internal operation of WBNS-AM, including hiring, supervising and evaluating on-air and production staff, creating and executing promotions by working with the promotion and sales staff as well as ensuring that all commercial and promotion is properly logged. College degree in a broadcast –related field, three to five years programming experience, previous management, sports programming experience and extensive sport knowledge strongly preferred. Qualified candidates should send a cover letter, resume to: Dispatch Broadcast Group, Human Resources Job #100DZ, 770 Twin Rivers Drive, Columbus, OH 43215. DISPATCH BROADCAST GROUP IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER. WE ARE A SMOKE-FREE AND DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE.

Who'll be the next through the revolving door?

Maybe someone that will take that fossil Rimmer off the air. Yesterday we were treated to a look back at the 79-83 Montreal Expos. So how is this relevant to Central Ohio you ask? Well let me tell you kiddies... Rimmer was on the broadcast team for the Expos during that time. So let's see, we talk about something that has no relevancy to this area about 25 years after it actually happened. Terrible.

Maybe they could do PGA coverage, or the Indians when they play a day game, you know real play by play. Imagine, a ALL SPORTS station doing play by play, GOD how original---maybe I should apply. I'll bet they won't even carry the college world series that is available on Westwood one. Maybe all the NCAA tournament basketball, god, maybe the baseball playoffs even if they play during drive time.
Wasn't Rimer the one who was picked to do the Bluejackets play by play on TV????? If so, got to give him something to do right?????
Hey, I got it---I can save them a lot of work!! Maybe we could bring back Terry Smith so we all can pick our owns lockers again!!!!!!
