And the actual Dance Crossover of Summer 05 is...

all congratulations are due to John and the Parker Posse at Robbins Entertainment; driving to the Record Connection this morning, the dance version of "Listen to Your Heart" by D.H.T. was blasting out of Z 100,and as I opened up and WBLI came on with the electricity, there was...the dance version of D.H.T.Unlike last summer, this summer has at least one real crossover HIT; congrats once again!

One of the mainstream CHR's here in Indiana has been started playing it within the last week or two... it's good to hear a "real" dance song on the radio again.

Which station Matt??? I know B106.3 in Fort Wayne has been on it for a while. Is U93, or WNOU on it yet? MAYBE WAZY perhaps, I cant imagine them sleeping on this one.

Re: Illinois finally accounted for...

Heard for the first time yesterday on Decatur, IL's Y-103 the dance version of DHT. Have not heard it on any other CHR's around here until now. Just hoping it stirs up some more business for dance music!

That is awesome, especially since Y-103 leans Hot Ac, and always has. So I suppose (THE CROMWELL) PARTY stations 104.3-93.1-and 101.1 are asleep on this one. I am kinda Surprised WMGI hasnt picked it up yet, considering their Rhtyhmic/Dance Heritage, They did play Kelly Osbourne Once though.

Sometimes I feel like I live in Chicago. There's so much Hip-Hop on the air around here, B-96 doesn't even sound fresh and hot and new with the music. We have HOT 105.5 and The Partys. YEP, Y-103 does play DHT and I heard it twice yesterday (poorly VT'd -- it was the exact VT word for word each time). Y-103 isn't much of a HOT AC sound anymore. I tend to listen to it more than MIX-FM, The Party or Q-96. Very strong CHR presentation with images and all and the music stays pretty straight on CHR all day. They don't lack Hip-Hop, even during the dayparts and have now added the ONE DANCE TRACK THAT EXISTS!!! Maybe Party, MIX and the Q are playing it too but I haven't heard it there yet. Some people around here like Y-103, some think it's a trainwreck. I personally think it sounds pretty good 80% of the time. This is the most CHR-sounding it has been since the late 80's. Just some thoughts on it for you. Later.

It would be U93... I think it's only been within the last week that they've added it to rotation, I heard it for the first time Thursday or Friday. Since B106.3 is their sister station in Fort Wayne, that might possibly have had a little impact on the decision to add it to rotation.

Re: WOW Y-103 played that

Philadelphia's Wired 96.5 (urban leaning CHR/Rhythmic) played One Word by Kelly Osbourne.

Re: WOW Y-103 played that

Anyone know which CHR stations are playing the dance version, which ones are just playing the ballad version & which ones are playing both??

Ourt of the 3 CHR's in my area, all 3 are playing both the dance & ballad version. WBLI has probably a 70/30 split dance/ ballad, Z 100 is about 50/50, not sure what split K104 has, but I have heard both versions. The song is in high rotation on all 3 stations
