I talked to Chris Ryan earlier and he told that she's still temporary, but when the new morning host comes in they'll still keep playing music and no talking like L&T did.

Why all the negative comments on Scull? (not on this post, but elsewhere on the board.) Those things that many of you miss and lament (live and local radio program, commitment to local artists, taking of call-in requests, etc,) Cindy does (or did, when permitted to by CC.) I don't usually listen to her, but have. I don't claim to know her, but I've met her. Sometimes you have to factor in the entire person, not just whether you react to five seconds of her schtick when you're surfing stations in the morning.
She's also dedicated, coming back for a second round (or is it third?) of Clear Channel abuse. She was there for the original incarnation of The Eagle (pre-Sunny, pre-La Preciosa.) I'm just not seeing the reason for taking her to task. At least she's working (unlike me and many other radio folks right now.)

I agree....You can say ___________ is back on the air....and you'll get a chorus of "he sucks, no talent hack", etc etc....You are DEAD on about Cindy doing what everyone here bitches about being gone from local radio. She'd do MUCH more if CC would let her
I am not a fan of ANY radio dj when they come on the radio I change the station. Cindy is one of the really bad ones. She does nothing original and I used to think she was a man. I say that honestly. Come on call in requests? If its not on the play sheet its not played. She gets her 15 minutes and hour or whatever she gets but her chatter is just dull. To be honest a NO DJ format would be fine with me. If she didnt want to CC abuse she wouldnt keep coming back. I give her the props for being in an industry where your here today and gone today. I just choose not to listen to her or support her in any way. Radio DJ's are the lowest form of celeb if you can call them that. I see "on air" talent all over town dropping their business cards trying to get free bees or bumped up in line. Or comps at restaurants. This happened as early as last Thursday at Frankies in uptown when an on air talent demanded free meals and drinks. Then when a DJ is fired from a station. We the listeners are supposed to stop listening to the station. Then say I DELETED THE STATION FROM MY PREST. For me when on air talent is fired or replaced its no big deal to me.

Her former Saturday show was built completely around requests, IIRC. Me, I'm a music-only person in the mornings, too. Stern and Hal Jay were the only ones I made exceptions for.
I do agree with ya on the comps; ALL celebrities think they're entitled to this and that, and some places are just dumb enough to keep giving them everything. Howard Stern made a great point about that once, that all those favors and freebies that celebrities get--they're the last ones who should, since they can obviously afford to buy these things themselves!! The people who "put" those celebrities in the limelight are the ones paying full price for concert tickets, games, CDs, or whatever the celebrity is famous for...and those same folks are paying full price for their meals, too.
Of course, "DJ" is a selective term these days. What was the recent contest (Observer?) that was tracking votes for "the top DJ in Dallas." Guess what? None of them were even on the radio. These were CLUB dj's. But CELEBRITIES one and all just the same, right? ;D
And yes, honestly, that was one of my first questions after I started doing traffic: WHERE ARE THE FREEBIES??? Sales never shared their free meal passes or any of their spoils "just because" with the talent (and that's Traffic sales...we never, ever heard a peep from the sales dept of the stations we served.) We never got free passes to station events or concerts. Hell, most of us never showed up on a station's website or got any public acknowledgement of being part of the station's team...and never got a chance at doing remotes or appearances (I know I sure could have used the $$$. Instead, I got Shomper'ed for even asking, and later lambasted for an 8-second goodbye on my last day.) Miss it, but I don't.
Yeah, Little1, I know, it's just traffic. But the job meant something to ME, and that's what counts.
To the industry's credit, tho, I was told that, regarding freebies, "radio doesn't work that way anymore. Nobody ever gets anything." Maybe traffic never sees "payola," but I know it's not a dead issue.

Who is the the new morning hosts?
Like her or not, you have to agree that in order for someone like Scull to have the longevity that she's had in this major market, SOMEONE must like her. Listeners (men AND women) love her, clients as well and her co-workers respect her. She is not a suck-up and I know her to be of the highest integrity. Do I think morning drive is her strength? No, I prefer her in the mid-day slot, but until 'the next morning show' is revealed, Cindy is a great choice to fill in.
