Hmm, good question.

You know David, that brings up a good point. Only One song incorporates the Accordian based sound into itself and that's the Dwight Yokam version of Streets Of Bakersfield. With the Hispanic population growing and country typically struggling in Hispanic heavy markets, one must wonder if Country Artists shouldn't incorporate some "latin vibe" into their music. Couldn't hurt.<P ID="signature">______________

I think it could hurt. If country experiments too much with Latin the format could lose more of it's core audience than it would gain new listeners.

There were a couple of other accordian based country songs after "Streets of Bakersfield". In the mid-90s the Mavericks had a song "All you ever do is bring me down". In the same era, Tejano star Emilio had a few country hits as well.

Struggling? Country thrives in the Fresnos, Bakersfield,
El Paso, etc,

Based on the ratings I wouldn't say Country thrives in El Paso.

KHEY #7 12+, don't have demographic breakdowns but if
you want to nit-pick...
