And the new format for WZNN is-----

Y'all FM?! Y'ALL FM.

That's uh, that's a heck of a name they picked out.

My gosh, that name...sometimes you can be too cute.

The station will not have any on-air personalities.

“That’s the beauty of it – no disc jockeys, just the music,” DuBose said.

And no dedicated salaries to pay them, which confirms my 'dump The Zone = dump salary' theory. Even the MENSA crowd in the AL.com comment section figured that out.

The variety hits ship has already sailed and passed Birmingham by a few times. I should probably listen instead of prejudging, but the description isn't very encouraging. 97.3 doesn't seem to be challenging anyone in the market...or anything other than 'silence'.

i know ya'll love picking on fuzion 100 from selma - but my girlfriend (42 years old, born in 71) has listened to it NONSTOP since i tuned it in to just listen. So. What does that tell you?

In fact, we'd love a clone to that - minus the country.

fuzion is NOTHING like jack. very limited classic rock. heavier on the 80s.

What happened?? Did somebody at WZNN fall asleep? :D

aw, come on. computers don't sleep.
they just reboot.

it's kinda like i keep telling my dad who is an eye doctor....

eye doctors don't die....they just fade away....

:-D

"Y'all 97.3" just came on air with a Paula Deen inpersonation followed by Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" followed by whoever sings "Hey Yeah"... Oh, well.

-Travis

i left it on overnight and this morning i'm already hearing the same songs repeat. just like an mp3 list... lol

notable repeats from just the last hour:

sweet home alabama (duh)
enter sandman
hound dog

i know i've heard each of those at least three times since tuning in last night going to bed
