OK, it's less than six hours away, so I don't think I'm betraying anyone's trust at this point by revealing it...

BizRadio 1360.

Again.

But the true question is radio fans:

Did the hifi club get granfathered in the deal? ;D

if not, I'm NOT tuning in!

HA!! That made my night. The answer, unfortunately, is NO. We'll be streaming right along with Rational Radio, and will still be on the other affiliates; nothing else has changed. Biz is taking the whole schedule 24/7, so there's no opportunity there...BUT...stay tuned! You never know if Rational might just turn up again on the terrestrial airwaves! (There's you an unfounded rumor to start off 2010 with.)

:) I said a few weeks ago that I heard BizRadio use a KMNY 1360 promo in error instead of the KFCD 990 one.

Yep, and I had to bite my lip when you said it!

The 9AM ID included KMNY and KGOL 1180 Humble/Houston...which means it has changed homes there to since it was on KTEK 1110 in that market.

So, in Dallas/Ft Worth, it has been on KMNY 1360, KJSA 1110, KVCE 1160, and on and off the last couple of weeks on KFCD 990, and now back on KMNY. It looks like KFCD is back to its default religious music.

In Houston, it has been on KXYZ 1320, KTEK 1110, and now KGOL.

It HAS been very annoying to someone trying to listen to it (like me). I don't understand why they went to the trouble of actually buying 1110 only to give it up a few months later in favor of barely a signal coverage area change/improvement and limited schedule. 1110 is already planning to go to 50KW which should fix most of the problem it had covering the east metroplex. I am a bit disappointed that Rational is off the air, but I guess that was just fundamentally a money problem. I told them repeatedly though that 1360 was where BizRadio needed to be, maybe they're actually listening to me :)....naw

And just for the record, it sounds like the FunAsia from 700 group has control of 1160 now. (starts singing the Benny Lava song..)

They have KHSE 700 and KZMP-FM 104.9. The "Radio Salaam Namaste" (http://rsnworld.com/rsnworld/) folks that originally leased KZMP-FM 104.9 ended up on KFJZ 870. When BizRadio went off KVCE 1160, the RSN format was simulcast on both KFJZ and KVCE. KFJZ seems to be back to Spanish religious.

It's kind of amazing the folks leasing all these facilities keep moving around...

Radio, especially the AM band, has become much like the cheap apartment business. Sign a minimal lease, move in, lease comes to an end, find new place with cheaper rent. Constant musical chairs.

As long as the checks clear the station owners couldn't care less. "Brokered programming" is pretty much an end game for any broadcaster; if you can't make money with that business model, it's time to turn off the transmitter and surrender the license.

Or sell the station. I learned working in Christian stations there are still plenty of people who will pay to get on the air. So I can understand why these companies did those move-ins or power upgrades. More power = higher rates. BTW I wonder how much does it cost to lease a daytimer like KFJZ 870?
