I guess it should go without saying that Magic is now All Christmas...

Even hayna radio went Christmas

I was out this morning (between 1:00 - 2:00 am) and WNAK was doing Christmas. Thank goodness for my large supply of CDs. I've nothing against Jesus and/or his birthday; I take the wafer quite often and do my evening prayers. But, sheesh, I haven't even partaken in the Sacrifice of the Turkey yet. It's not even the Season of Advent. It's more than a month until Baby God comes down from heaven while angels assend on high.

I don't play Christmas music on my show until just a few days before (probably Dec 21 or 22) and keep it going until Epiphany. Let's take back the season! Christmas music at Christmas!<P ID="signature">______________

5,000 watt Cozy 1460 out of Tunkhannock won't be going all Christmas...rather just mixing it in. Give us a listen! Wow, we're the only station in the market playing pure AC for a month.....

Re: And WNAK makes four?

I noticed since stations have gone all Christmas, its hard to get other stations to play any Christmas songs. Its either all or nothing. I like a gradual influx of x-mas music up to the holiday, but other stations almost play no Christmas.

WNAK did that last year. An occasional Christmas song here and there, then just a bit more, gradually increasing until we came close to the holyday. This year it was, boom, all-Christmas. I listen to Radio740 at night now for the older stuff, or play CD's. I can take just so much of this stuff at one time.

Re: And WNAK makes four?

WWDL last year also did a gradual influx starting after Thanksgiving. I don't know if the River will do the same. So far I have not heard any Christmas there yet, though they indicated in there station liners that they would, just not yet. I'm hoping they do the same as WWDL used to do. Give it to you a little at a time.

That's the way we always did it----one song a shift from Thanksgiving until Dec 1st--then two a shift for a week--then one an hour for a week--then two an hour until noon Christmas Eve--then all Christmas. Keeps the burn down. The way it is now I just turn my radio off until December 26th.
