Andy Johnson, the old FM 105.3 WJSJ.

Will Andy Johnson ever get back on the radio? He had a Left-Wing radio station in Jacksonville FL. His radio station has FM 105.3 WJSJ. I would love to know why he stopped his radio business. If anyone knows the story behide this guy, let me know. Thank you, a lot.

I haven't talked to Andy in several years, so I have no idea what his current broadcast plans may be. I worked with him many years ago when he was first getting started, and to the best of my knowlege, his arrangement with most of the radio stations he appeared on was that he paid them for the block of time to be on the air, and in return had the right to sell time to various sponsors to be on during his show. Actually, as far as I know, most of the local talk shows being produced in Jacksonville these days (except for Public Radio WJCT), are "brokered" in the same fashion - the host(s) pay the station, and the station lets them sell time to make money back for their efforts. In the case of 105.3 FM (which now features a Spanish music format), and, at one time, 105.7 FM, his deal may have been modified to include much more, but, in any event, ownership changes at those stations resulted in his arrangement ending.

He was known pretty much as a crackpot & a joke on the local airwaves. Even folks at WJXR would point to him & say, 'do what'?

I'd like to hear him again. To me there's more than enough right-wing talk. This area needs a few good progressive talkers, with a signal you can actually hear! ;D

Actually yes, but I live near Lake City... only the right-wing hate machines come in somewhat clearly here.
