Andy Langer on nights at KGSR

Andy Langer takes over the nights on KGSR next week (Bobby Ray was fired in November).

I'm wondering why he needs to do nights or wants to do nights. With his writing and TV show I see him out at night all of the time and don't know how he's going to fit "a real job" into his life.

Does KGSR voice track?
That's an easy way to fit an air shift into a busy schedule.
I did it years ago in the Valley.
20 minutes on tape equals a 4-hour board shift.

I know Emmis has the capabilities to voice track (though not to VoiceTRAC®)... Johnny Walker tracked his shift for the last couple of years before being layed off... Really, listening to some Emmis stations, i've heard some shifts where it was painfully obvious that they had been VT'd (mostly on KROX - and i'm sure CC and Ent stations are just as bad)... I'd be shocked if Andy VT'd his sunday night on 101x, but not so much if it were a nightly thing...

On the subject of voice-tracking, I heard Majic run Saturday morning's show on Wednesday morning.
It was the day after Xmas and the jock said ''Just 2-1/2 days to go, so you still have a chance to show Santa you've been good.''

Emmis has voice-tracking ability, but I have heard KGSR doesn't use it. Loris Lowe was on live on Christmas Eve, I know for sure.

Bobby Ray got fired (I heard) for not wanting to something on the website that directed buyers to an out-of-town business. He felt the audience was better served by directing them to a local business and he refused to do it. Something like that.
