Andy Richter To Follow Conan To TBS

Lopez will be on later where he can be a weak alternative to infomercials. That's where he should have been in the first place.

This should not be a surprise. Richter has a family to support and his only success (if you can call it that) is suckling off the Conan teat...

Well, I hope this all goes better than the Tonight Show run. That's pretty much all I have to say about that until the show Conan debuts.

I thought this was already known. It was at least a month ago Conan was making videos in his new office with references to Andy. Guess you had to see the videos to know that.

That would be putting him up against Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel.
He will get creamed.

I can tell this is a minority opinion, but I like Richter, and I think he's funny. Andy Barker PI and Andy Richter Controls the Universe were both clever shows, unsuccessful though they may have been.

If you check his credits on imdb, you'll see that he gets a fair amount of guest-star work in TV, and occasionally in movies. Granted, he owes that success to the exposure he's gotten from Conan, but he'd survive in the business without O'Brien.

Okay, LK... Get back to me after Edd Hall has a successful post-"Tonight Show" venture. ;)

Oh, I already knew about this through earlier reports I've read. However, I did not see the videos. I think everyone got sick of late night talk show threads for a while and needed a break until Conan's new show actually debuts.

It was my understanding, that George Lopez was going to follow Conan!

Thats what I thought too.

Are you kidding? I'm reasonably sure that what the original poster meant by "follow Conan to TBS" was that Richter would continue as Conan's side-kick on Conan's show. Last I heard, Lopez's show will follow Conan's at midnight.

One person that won't be following Conan and Andy to their new TBS gig is Max Weinberg; Jimmy Vivino will be their new bandleader.

And if the "I'm with Coco; Coco is with TBS" teaser promo is any indication, we may see some new theme music (with a sampling of the old NBC theme).

Kind of sad that Max won't be there. I look at Richter as a curse on that show. At NBC "Late Night"it was alsmost canceled when Andy was there. Then he leaves and the show does bettter. Andy comes back for The Tonight Show and it's canceled within Months! Every show Andy is on is canceled within months! Nothing personal against Andy, but if I had a show I don't even know if I would want him working in the same building!

Except that O'Brien and Lopez' new competition doesn't technically include the network guys at all--but the likes of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Chelsea Handler, Mo'Nique, and perhaps SportsCenter more than [adult swim]. These represent first-run programming choices that will be running on cable during the time they're on.

I have to agree. While I think Andy is a talent in his own right, He just doesn't work as a sidekick to Conan. Look how much better Late Night got after he left, and I think he's the main reason Conan was so short-lived at the Tonight Show.
