Andy Samberg returns to Saturday Night Live

Maroon 5 singer and Voice coach Adam Levine hosted last night's episode of SNL. Here's his monologue in which Andy Samberg (who just left after last season), Cameron Diaz, and Jerry Seinfeld took part:

Gotta say Adam looked really wooden and uncomfortable in all of his sketches. And the monologue wasn't that good on anyone's part, really. Bad timing on the camerawork and even Jerry flubbed his lines.

But I'm sure the show's staffers kept up the exaggerated fake laughter in the background like they do during the awful jokes on Weekend Update (reason why I stopped watching a few years ago).

Seinfeld had just done a show in Wheeling, West Virginia the previous night to a sold-out crowd. Sure he had a hiccup on his lines, but that's the beauty of live TV.

To me, Jay Pharoah does a great Obama, although the skit was just kinda there. Overall, not much to get excited over.

They should REALLY think about cutting this show down to sixty minutes.

Zero minutes is more like it.

Tried watching last night for the first time in a long time. It's just not funny. There has got to be something fresh NBC can put into that time slot.... or the rest of their prime time schedule for that matter. :D

I agree with your critical assessment. I haven't seen the Saturday night ratings, but I've read (probably on these boards), that SNL is the highest rated show Saturday on NBC. That may not be saying much, but as far as the network is concerned, there is nothing to fix.
