Andy Thomas fired again

That is a true statement and for the life of me, I cannot understand why WWNU has not done any better than it has because it has a good sound, with a good music rotation and really doesn't sound stale like WCOS has for the past several years now.
 
People don't like to change. WCOS has always been the country station in Columbia
 
In our area WWNU doesn't reach here WCOS does with a much stronger signal which is probly the case in a lot of places. WCOS is a standard fixture in many peoples lives if it ever changes it would rock a lot of peoples worlds.
 
Even though it is true that they have been country for over 30 years now, it seems like they have done nothing but sound tired and stale since the acquisition by clear channel and think that they could do much better and am really happy to see that they have cut out the pop stuff mixed in with the country. I would love to see them be live during the mid-day and the evenings like they used to be about 10 years ago as well.
 
I agree. WCOS needs to be live during the mid-days and evenings. This all started back during the Benchmark era with John Crenshaws Cryin,Lovin, Laughing or Leaving or drinking or Jerry Springer. I hated that show! I use to board op for the show @ WCOS for 6 months or so. I think we will see live jocks again. I don't know when. XM for me!
 
I listened to Andy a lot back in '89-90 on WVOC. At that time I thought he was very good. Not knowing him personally I cannot comment on the things I have read here, but back then he had a hell of a good show taking on some very interesting and controversial subjects. I listened to him from time to time when he had his own network and thought he did a very good job covering the state. Even if he is the jerk some of you say, should we be surprised? Ego is unfortunately a problem with many talk show hosts. But his style was very professional and his shows were very informative. He seems to find a way to resurrect himself every time he seems to be down and gone. It will be interesting to see if he can pull it off again.
