Ange 'N' Barn Exiled To Fringe

Looks like KAZT-TV's new fall sked bumps Mayberry from the
prime access hour back to 4-5pm. :(

We demand an immediate explanation!

Just kidding...but if Mr. Hagerty would care to enlighten us of
the reason(s). Too old- and rural-skewing? Wait, wasn't that
the line CBS used when they "dropped hayseed" circa 1971?

Oldiesfan: With the arrival of According To Jim and Married...With Children yesterday and Cheers in January, The Andy Griffith Show was going to wind up in the 4-5 hour. Rather than put the audience through two moves in three and a half months, we decided to just go straight to the timeslot where we expect it will stay. We've renewed Andy until the end of the decade.

The show always does well wherever we've run it, and yesterday's overnight ratings show it more than tripled what Hogan's Heroes had been doing at 4 and 4:30.

I wouldn't show According to Jim to my worst enemy. All the Belushi talent died in 1982
