Angelique Alston Named Brand Manager WPGC/Washington DC

https://news.****************/artic...Alston-Named-Brand-Manager-WPGC-Washington-DC

Entercom promotes 30-year radio executive Angelique Alston to Brand Manager of WPGC-FM/Washington, DC, effective immediately. Since 2013, she has served as Assistant Program Director, morning producer and events producer. Alston also served as morning show producer for "The Donnie Simpson Show" and "Big Tigger in the Morning" on WPGC and executive produced annual station events, including "For Sisters Only," "Coat Drive 95," and the "Back to School" and "Birthday Bash" concerts.

I'm just proud that Angelique Alston, a black woman, is running WPGC. Her and DC market manager/SVP, Ivy Savoy-Smith, both black radio pros, will do what needs to be done there. Alston will definitely run and program the station as a full-service, urban contemporary, which is very much needed in a heavily black and Afro-Latino market like Washington DC. As a person that loves that urban version of WPGC, I'm excited and glad to see this move.
