Condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace.

In the radio community Angelo Ditty will remembered as someone who brought the full force of his personality and character to his job. Ditty was not a person you forget, and I say that with respect and admiration.

I did have the pleasure of knowing him and last saw Angelo with Georgia Salva at WGUN about 5 years ago. Sad to hear.

Angelo Ditty so touched my heart I have to take a minute to share this story. After growing up in radio for some 33 years where Angelo and his inspections were legendary and where engineers used words like "fear" and "bully" grown men mind you. I found myself in need of a voluntary inspection a few years back in Atlanta. So here comes Mr. Ditty, I had no idea what to expect and worried how someone like me would measure up. Wow was there ever no need for that. Angelo with his very proper demeanor and almost stern face, stepped into the station door and said with a wink in my direction, " I hear I can deal with a pretty land this time not a hard head engineer." My worries just melted into pure desire to learn everything I could from this incredible man. I was lucky enough to learn a lot, while being pretty well up to snuff in his eyes. But I was not done being amazed by our Mr. Ditty. When we were all done and having truly enjoyed his visit. I walked him out to his car, it was at that point we both spoke at the same time. For both of us had noticed that we both were wearing ankle braces, his a very impressive kind. Angelo spent 45 minutes explaining my own condition to me as he knew it very well, then called his personal doctor on the spot and made me an appointment. When I hugged this man's neck before he left I felt ever so lucky to have had that day to meet this radio legend! A great man who struck fear in the hearts of those who took short cuts that endangered lives and licences, yet who I could see was surly the perfect Grandfather!!! He will always be treasured, missed and respected, what a legacy to leave! To his family I say I know your hearts must be breaking, but I know you must be proud to call this great man your own! Blessings Georgia Rivers Salva
