Ann Curry Returning to co-hosting "The Today Show?"

Matt Lauer should be the one worried, especially if he was the guiding force behind Ann Curry's departure from The Today Show.
If this new executive at NBC is best buddies with Curry you don't think that Curry is going to seek revenge on the hair follicle challenged Mr. Lauer? Of course she is, and she can use her high profile executive friend to help her.

However I feel the shake-up at the Today Show will start not with Matt Lauer but with Savanna Guthrie. Guthrie is now in the position of wondering if her job is secure. Another person who should be worried is Al Roker. Why to you think Roker has a number of other TV gigs, especially on the Weather Channel? The guy isn't stupid. He knows that his routine has grown as stale as year old bread and eventually he is going to be ousted by either some Barbie or Ken type of weather person.

Finally it will be Lauer's turn. When his contract comes up for renewal NBC will give him an empty box and tell him security is waiting to escort him out the door.

Hey NBC got rid of the almighty Bryant Gumble who thought he was irreplaceable so what makes you think that Lauer won't be tossed aside. My guess is that Lester Holt will take over as host of the Today Show weekdays.

Today has bigger problems than Curry vs guthrie or lauer's ego... They have lost the edge on what's new and hip. Gma is all about that. Changes in staff are a huge problem too. People like continuity. Going back to curry would erode that again.

While a host change is not out of the question, it will NOT be Ann Curry filling the chair again.

She's a nice lady but not a rating juggernaut.

Lauer is likely safe for the moment but may not survive his entire contract.

Savannah deserves more of a chance. She's doing a decent job.
