Anna Grace "You make me feel/ Obsession"

Party 105 has been playing Peter Lutz "You Make me feel"/ Obsession. Not sure the actual name of the song as I have seen it both ways. The song is one of my favorites if not my favorite out right now. It seems like other the XM dance station, Party is the only one playing it right now. Any thoughts on this song??

It's by AnnaGrace, who is really Annemie Coenen from Ian Van Dahl. We will be releasing it shortly. You can go to www.ianvandahl.com to see a short clip of the video.

John ,is Reina still with Robbins? She'll be appearing at the Bunkhouse next month, and I'm doing features on her in the mass market GOOD TIMES Magazine, as well as the gay oriented PM Magazine; is there a new single?

Hey Jimi,

Yes Reina is still on Robbins. No new single although some of the demo stuff that she's cut is floating around but none of it is going to be coming out. We are working on finding some great songs for her to cut now. Where have all the great songwriters gone????

jp

suggestion;
a pumped up version of the 70s NY /new wave fave, "You Belong To Me " by Cherry Vanilla from the RCA UK/"Venus D Vinyl "album, would be a divine fit and a CHR hit....

Did a great interview with Reina yesterday which will be used for a feature in the gay PM Magazine and the straight GOOD TIMES Magazine;
I also suggested a perfect cover tune for her, which I played during my set at the Bunkhouse Saturday night;
"The Heart To Break The Heart" by France Joli; same vocal range and style,same drama,and musically set up to be easily adapted to a modern remix

John I think you found her song. Remember that song, Where have all the cowboys gone? Change it to where have all the good songwriters gone. ;D

the Reina performance at the Bunkhouse was fab,and she seems to like the idea of the "Heart To Break The Heart" cover /idea

I'll admit, I'm not into the remakes (yeah...where HAVE all of the songwriters gone!) :-[ but if anyone can pull off doing a France Joli track, especially an intense song like "The Heart To Break The Heart", Reina could do it! :)

She's not doing "Heart to Break the Heart", for the record. ;)

If your looking for nostalglic duets, feel free to check out the Amber/Zelma cover of Enough is Enough. I'm not a fan but maybe someone is.

I much prefer the Reina/Kim Sozzi version of that song. It was never released but instead performed at the 1st DMHOF.

I could see this if a label was averse to charting with covers and updates but, John, c.mon..."What Hurts The Most"..."Listen To Your Heart"....""Because The Night"...throw rocks in glass houses much?( and I do still love you kid, but really...)

There are lots of records to cover, and reasons to cover them. I just don't believe that "The Heart to Break the Heart", as big as a classic as it is with the glitteratzi, is one that people living in the burbs would be dying to hear. Most covers of old disco records go no where fast.

Reina's new song has been selected by the powers that be and she'll start recording it soon.

Off topic with AnnaGrace for a sec.....with the DMHOF, I know it hasn't happened in awhile but any chance this can come back in the future? And if so, I'd like to participate and help in any way possible.

I don't think that I'd be able to go through that again. I devoted 4 years of my life to one on my dream projects only to find out that nobody really cared enough to support it the way it needed to be supported.

We had the seats filled but when the artists that your honoring can't be bothered to show up or return any one of 20 plus calls you start to wonder why your really doing it. In fact, I still have some of the awards that people don't even care if they ever receive. Go figure.

Also, it's really hard to find the financial backing for a project like this. A couple of the founding members lost a ton of money trying to get this off the ground. So without an up front committment from a major sponsor, I don't see it really working.

A shame really.

That is a shame John. :(

You pour your heart and soul into such an endeavor and that's what you get in return? The DMHOF was an EXCELLENT idea! This is totally me guessing on this (only met you a month ago)....but I bet you've envisioned a former club in Brooklyn to be the "museum" with plaques of the inductees, exhibits on artists, DJ's, etc and at night, the musem could have transformed into a club where worldwide DJ would come and spin.

Stuff like this angers me because of the apathy within. And it's no wonder why we are stuck where we are. We (industry, artists, fans, DJ's, etc.) could go SOOOOOOO far if we decide to push ourselves, cut out whatever "drama" is behind the scenes and focus on making our "brand" stronger.

Admittedly, I get in ruts regarding the coalition....thinking that I'm the only one that wants to "fight". And if it's only me, so be it, but this is still worth the energy and effort to "fight" the good battle and progress things.

I know all of you posting here just don't love the music.....you believe in it! It's just a matter of killing the apathy somehow. As it is, I have to apologize to a manager because I had this idea of a pairing of a classic artist with someone current. The classic artist was open to it; talks were beginning to happen, but haven't heard SQUAT from the current. I didn't want anything out of this except to see something like this actually happen. But for me, I don't want to "operate" with just "talk"....I want action to happen for the betterment of everyone.

So I do see it...and it is sad. But hell...the day this stops with me will be the day I die and we'll just have to push other avenues and willing to work with ANYONE on this somehow.

Great meeting you again at Beatstock! :)
