Annie Sommers, the former program director and midday host for 1073 the Bay - now the Eagle - passed away Monday following a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was working for the Clear Channel cluster in Sarasota - Lite 92.1, WSRZ - when he became ill. Before coming to the Bay area, she was the music director and midday host at WMMO in orlando.
i worked for her for a couple years with the Bay and knew her in orlando, she was a great later and a true radio professional. She will be missed.

It is with great sadness that I share with you that our beloved Annie Sommers (Mari Ann Sollom) has lost her hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. In Lieu of services, there will be a celebration of her life forthcoming. Please keep Susan and the Sollom family in your thoughts and prayers. She will be dearly missed. We will be sending flowers and a card on behalf of our Clear Channel Sarasota Family.
