talking to a friend found out wat the BBBBBBBIGGGG announcement was. they doing 20 in a row now dont know much about the market but is wslc there competition??? what about bull? thats cc though right????????

do you think wyyd will ever compete? i looked at locator and wslc is 98000 watts and wyyd was like 20000. how do you compete like that?

WYYD was the number one rated station in Roanoke-Lynchburg for a number of years, prior to WSLC going country. They have an on-channel booster in Roanoke which keeps reception good there. Of course, they had/have no listeners or signal in the NRV which is a separate market, even though four or five Roanoke FM stations lead the ratings there anyway...

The power difference doesn't make too much difference. As fortmill said, the station has an on-channel booster in Roanoke, and in the eastern portion of the market, WYYD has a really powerful signal. The only places WSLC has a huge advantage are in the NRV and other valleys that WYYD can't see and probably has no signal in.
