My fellow Memphians,

I was going to wait until the actual day to drop this but I guess now is an appropriate time.

After a very long period of thinking it over, I've decided to move back up to New England with my son Josh. I actually made the decision last week but for some reason didn't feel like telling everyone till now. Its a family decision and has nothing to do with radio in Memphis.

The reason I've decided to announce it here on the board is that I know how much I'll miss Memphis and the friends I've made here. I know most of you who post on this forum, and a number of you I've worked with. That'll be the hard part.

Josh and I will be home just in time for the first snow. And if we're real lucky, a Red Sox victory celebration in front of the State House in Boston!

Anyway, since CFKane and some of us were kinda jokingly talking about doing a steak dinner to celebrate Air America's precipitous ratings drop on AM 680 (just bein a smart ass, LOL), I'd like to really get together with as many of you guys as possible somewhere, for a beer and great Memphis food. Since I never did get out much, I'll leave the suggestions open to you guys.

Just so everyone knows, I'll be working all my gigs right up till the day I set sail on November 2, so you'll still hear me goofing up on the air for the next few weeks. Roll tape, y'all might get a good laugh out of my performance someday!

Memphis is a great town, really it is. While all of us have had occasion to bash the city and its politics, I must say I've never made more friends anywhere. When we get our first 2 foot blizzard up home, I'll be thinking of ya!

Oh... and as for this board, I will continue to moderate it. I have no plans to step down and so you'll all be hearing from me at one time or another.

So... exactly four weeks from today, we ride! Lets make it a great month!

P.S. -

I forgot to mention, as we plan this, somebody PLEASE get in touch with Argo & Nikki. I don't have a contact number for them and I'd like them to join us. Thanks!<P ID="signature">______________

BEER?!?!?! Did someone say BEER? I distinctly read (somewhere) that beer would be involved. That being the case...(sry for the pun) this sounds like a great idea. I know I haven't posted a TON on the board, but believe me I read it everyday.

Glad to see you'll still be around in a cyber-ish way Steve, you've done a good job with the board and all.

Pick a time, pick a place and pick a designated driver.

I am glad you will continue to be here, on the board. This expedites the need for a get together, and I will get in touch with N&A, about it too. All kidding aside, you will indeed be missed here in Memphis, and we must get together for one last hoorah, before you go, to that winter wonderland. Get your car rust proofed! CFKane

Okay Sawyer/West. Do you still have the picture of me, you ,and Trip with SheDaisy? That's a memory you need to carry with you, huh?
I'll be game for the get together as long as it's not too early in the evening.
I have to drive from the tomato patch, you know.
And, as you know...I've not met the first beer I'm scared of!
I'm bringing Timmy, too!
See you soon. E-mail me off board.

Again just add beer and buck will appear. I think I might get that Tattooed somewhere. Anyways, I would love to get together for a hooray. Love listening to you while you filled in for Bucco (old friend)

Damn, Steve! I haven't seen you in 5 years and I already miss ya! LOL!
Glad to see you're finally making the move. Have a beer for me while
you're at it. If I weren't 13 hours away, I'd be happy to be the designated
drinker, I mean driver.

Later!

Beer - 3rd week of Oktober
