Annoying Holiday Commercials 2014

So what are the most annoying holiday commercials that can make you grab the remote and flip to another channel.


  • Kay Jewelers - Ugh! I couldn't stand them airing on TV. Most of them displays couples proposing each other and when the jingle plays in the background, they kiss each other. One of their new commercials features mostly penguins. The beginning to this commercial has a male penguin trying to propose to a female partner by dropping the pebble, but the female walked away. Then, another penguin couple successfully got engaged where the male showed her a diamond necklace brought from, you guess it? Kay! This commercial is not based on Dreamwork's animated film Penguins of Madagascar, but I think it may have been a parody of the movie. Overall, the commercials produced by them is very annoying, and so does the end jingle.


  • Pennsylvania Lottery - Personally, I don't find this one very irritating, but some people may have been annoyed by it, especially when it was mostly ran
    during the holidays. This ad has been run continuously since it debuted around the mid 1990's, but has given an update a few years ago with the news stand
    scene changed. Also, the lyrics somewhat change over the number of years. But, overall the commercial looks and feels outdated.

AND THE MOST ANNOYING OF THEM ALL IS......!


  • Raymour and Flanigan's Holiday Sale - Man! This had to be the WORST commercial that was ever made. The video presentation and voiceover narration is okay, but the background holiday music combined with the girl singing "Two Names Say It All!" sound like it must have come from an old 70's Indy movie, but with a modern feel. Every time I see this commercial pop up, I either had to mute the TV or change the channel. The very beginning of the music is very jarring, and so does the female singer. They need to get rid of this background music altogether, it bothers me, and can give me bad dreams because of it. And in case if you want to make this one a little bit more scarier, just use the Audacity, download the clip below, and slow down the pitch. Now it would sound pretty evil!
    The good news is though, it only runs during the month of December, which typically means holiday season, and it is mostly ran only in Northeast states where Raymour and Flanigan has their showrooms. I may as well call it "the singer from hell"!
