I'm surprised this thread hasn't been started yet or this a Thanksgiving radio tradition that has gone the way of WODS.

At the very least, I'm thinking WUMB will spin it a few times.

As a non-grampa, I appreciate the tradition and enjoy hearing the song every Thanksgiving. But I'm sure there's a typical, network station somewhere more suited to your tastes - feel free to enjoy it tomorrow.

Last year was the first time I ever heard it. It was played during "The Food Schmooze" a Food oriented talk show on WNPR Connecticut Public Radio.

WMWM always plays it after the yearly Beverly vs Salem game. Also last Sun morning a more recent version was played.

"WBCN Free Form Rock" at WZLX HD3 and wbcn.com has also played it every year, I'd guess they plan to again.

It was nice when I was pulling air-shifts because it was a 22 minute break for me, but I never got it. I like Arlo, too, but this was always a bad Garrison Keillor ramble.

As always, non-commercial all-oldies WXRB-FM (95.1) in Dudley/Webster, MA played the original "Massacree" at noon, with a second helping at 3:00 PM. It's an 'XRB Tradition, just like "War Of The Worlds" on Halloween and the yearly Old Time Radio Christmas Special on Christmas Eve.
