"Another $250 million for HD radio"

Don't forget not many radios for sale in any reasonable quanities. You can see them online but that doesn't show anyone how good they are! What a waste of $250 Million dollars! Will this drive the public to buy these radios? I don't think they have a prayer! Are the radio mega broadcasters doing some money laundering for the mob or what? Maybe they should be forced to disclose just where all this money is coming from! Dollar by dollar! Fishy really fishy stuff going on here! No wonder the radio companies are slashing their budgets everywhere in the nation! The public, their employees, their listeners, and their advertisers are getting burned big time. Will you? Not me, not ever!

I'm beginning to think, Ramsey has a bit of a hidden agenda - he knows damn well, the problems with HD Radio/IBOC, but states that he thinks the idea is, "terrific". Maybe he figures, that he will tout HD Radio, then step in to be its savior.

All HD Radio expenses, including the $200 million "spent" on HD Radio promotion last year and the additional $250 million to be spent in 2007, are deductible business expenses. The taxpayers pick up the tab for the budget deficits.

For the most part, that $250 million is just unsold inventory. It's not real money. It's too bad they don't use that air time to promote local events in their community, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Literacy in America, their local schools, or some other worthwhile causes that everyone can agree on.

The fact that they are not spending any "real" money just rubs more salt in the taxpayers wounds.

I wish they'd find a way to put cheaper radios on shelves. They are few and far between and they are way too expensive for anyone to want it.

Expensive, or not, HD radios do not work, as advertised...
